Piña Coladas

My grandfather was a bartender for 42 years in Puerto Rico. He worked at the best hotels in the metro area of San Juan. Early in his career, he worked at the Caribe Hilton Hotel with the guy that invented piña coladas Ramón Marrero. Read more here

That being said, I am spoiled as far as cocktails go. I appreciate high quality and made from scratch drinks. No shortcuts. And most definitely, NO pre mixed anything. 

And so, with the Spring and Summer months around the corner, I wanted to share with you the Piña Colada Recipe I grew up with.

Ingredients

  • 1 can of Sweetened Coconut Cream. Recommended: Coco López
  • 1 can of HIGH QUALITY coconut milk. Recommended: Simple Truth or Goya
  • 2 cups of frozen pineapple
  • Ice to taste
  • White Rum to taste. Recommended: Don Q
